WAITROSE X LULU GUINNESS TOTE BAG REVIEW

It’s been ages since I reviewed a bag on here, so this bag review is long overdue. If you missed out on Anya Hindmarch’s Bag for Life collab with Waitrose last year, (or perhaps you just want a new tote bag) don’t fear because Lulu Guinness is here. She’s collaborated with Waitrose to bring out what might possibly be this year’s most fashionable tote bag. It’s a tote with an environmentally friendly twist - it’s made from recycled plastic bottles and bottle tops. Take this bag with you when you’re doing your weekly shop and you’ll get loads of compliments. Who said you can’t mix food and fashion? This is the tote bag to end all tote bags. You can use it for anything. Your weekly food shop, work tote (a MacBook will definitely fit), travel bag, beach bag… it’s so versatile!

Price

This bag is £12.00 so you’re getting a designer bag without the designer price tag.

Dimensions

H37cm x W57cm x H15cm

What fits inside?

Everything!

Design

This large monochrome tote features the ubiquitous red lip logo, which is synonymous with the Lulu Guinness brand. It has red woven shoulder straps with white embroidered Lulu Guinness monogram detailing. The embroidered monogram detailing adds to the bag’s luxurious feel. I like how the branding has been embroidered onto the strap instead of being printed on. It makes it more durable and you don’t need to worry about fading over time.

There’s the option to use shoulder straps or top handle straps so it can be worn over the shoulder, in the crook of your arm or simply hold it in your hand. My personal preference is to use it as a shoulder bag.

The inside is easy to clean, so you don’t need to worry about a drink bottle (or in my case, a shampoo bottle) leaking. It comes with internal pockets to keep your valuables safe. There’s even a removable base shaper. I prefer to use the bag without the shaper because I like a relaxed and slouchy-looking tote bag. However, if you’re after a structured tote, the base shaper is your bestie.

Cons

There's no zip or magnetic fastener.

Final Thoughts

I’m obsessed with this bag and it’s one of my wardrobe faves this year.

So run, don’t walk to Waitrose for this bag. Or order it online. You’ll need to be quick though, cause it keeps going in and out of stock.

Until next time,

C x
